The purpose of this task is for students to interpret two distance-time graphs in terms of the context of a bicycle race. There are two major mathematical aspects to this: interpreting what a particular point on the graph means in terms of the context, and understanding that the "steepness" of the graph tells us something about how fast the bicyclists are moving.

This lesson focuses on calculating the areas of rectangles. It is designed to enable adult students to successfully master basic geometry knowledge in order to achieve their High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED). Areas to be covered include types of polygons, quadrilaterals, rectangles; calculating areas of rectangles and calculating costs. Students can apply this knowledge to practical areas of their lives such as calculating the cost of purchasing carpet or painting walls.

This kit provides teachers and other educators with the materials and guidance to help fourth grade students understand the reasons that the British colonists elected to declare their independence from King George III between the years 1763-1776. This course, Digital ESL, offers a simple, guided path to digital literacy starting with foundation skills training for those less proficient in English. It was designed to maximize hands-on learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom, utilizing students' own smartphone devices. Although originally designed for teaching older adult (age 65+) beginner learners of English, it can be used for teaching common smartphone features to adults of any age!

Digital Learn is a website with a variety of tutorials for adults who are new to using computers (on topics such as introduction to email, navigating a website, and online job searching).

The purpose of this lesson is for students to practice and improve English conversation, writing, vocabulary, and reading through the lens of the Earth Day holiday (April 22nd). Also, students can brainstorm and share what we can do to preserve the Earth on a global or personal scale.

This is an extension activity that can be used with an online reading passage. The reading passage gives basic information on elements, compounds, and mixtures.

This OER discusses matter, elements, compounds, atoms, and the subatomic particles succinctly. It would be most effective if used as a supplement to a text, another website, some type of multimedia, and/or as a review on the subject. There are additional links and resources to support advance instructions and learning. The idea that students are able to work independently to improve their learning is an advantage to using this OER as an augmentation. It contains an assessment with hidden answers, which supports a check for mastery; it also requires some critical thinking skills.
