The "On the Edge" features at NASA'S Imagine the Universe site examine some of the research groups putting together the pieces of high-energy astronomy. There are four "On the Edge" features, focusing on 1) gravitational waves; 2) new instrument design (for detecting X-rays, gamma rays, cosmic rays); 3) galaxy clusters; and 4) supernova remnants--the remains of exploded stars. Like the rest of Imagine the Universe, these features are intended for students age 14 and up, and the general public. (less)
