Career Gates: Soft Skills highlights the skills employees need to be successful. These include communication, eye-contact, listening, teamwork, positive attitude, proper handshake, professional appearance and respect. Soft skills are the abilities to get along with others, resolve conflict and work together towards a common goal. These skills can be a strong indicator in why you get a job or why you don't get a job. A desire to learn and an ability to learn, you can advance. Many companies will hire people that have soft skills over someone with more technical skills because technical skills can be taught more easily. ***Access to Teacher's Domain content now requires free login to PBS Learning Media. Incredible phenomena are happening in your body all the time. But have you ever stopped to think about what keeps you breathing, how information travels from your senses to your brain instantly, or any of the other amazing things that constantly happen to keep you alive? Now you can jump inside the human body and participate in these physiological processes to help Fred outrun danger in the woods. In Code Fred: Survival Mode, you'll play mini-games to send adrenaline to help Fred run faster, build a blood clot to help heal a wolf bite, prioritize energy intake to the most critical organs, and even fight bacteria invaders after Fred gets sneezed on in the woods. Each mini-game helps Fred run a little farther toward safety. Lose one of these challenges, and Fred's body won't be leaving the woods. (less)

Water Science ActivitiesDrip Calculator: How much water does a leaking faucet waste? Check your faucets at home -- do any of them drip? Well, maybe it's just a small drip -- how much water can a little drip waste? True, a single drip won't waste much water. But think about each faucet in your home dripping a little bit all day long. What if every faucet in every home on your block ... in your town ... in your state also dripped? The drips would add up to a flood of water wasted down the drain. (less)
