Quickly following what many expected to be a wholesale revolution in library practices, institutional repositories encountered unforeseen problems and a surprising lack of impact. Clunky or cumbersome interfaces, lack of perceived value and use by scholars, fear of copyright infringement, and the like tended to dampen excitement and adoption. This collection of essays, arranged in five thematic sections, is intended to take the pulse of institutional repositories—to see how they have matured and what can be expected from them, as well as introduce what may be the future role of the institutional repository.

The Purdue Online Writing Lab is a lab at Purdue that I have been using for over 20 years as a resource to help my students with writing organization, MLA formatting, citation, and even grammar. This is a youtube channel specific to the lab and writing. These are open and available on youtube.

For example, there is a youtube video on Paragraph Organization and Flow. From the video: In this IWE lecture, Heather from the Writing Lab helps thesis and dissertation writers organize their writing at the paragraph level and addresses the hard-to-define but all-too-important quality of "flow."

These are oriented towards upper level high school students and college/university students.

Critical Data Studies (CDS) is an interdisciplinary field that addresses the ethical, legal, sociocultural, epistemological and political aspects of data science, big data, and digital infrastructure.

This course focuses on current topics in critical data studies scholarship. Students will develop tools and methods to think critically and engage the public in conversation about data and society.

The overall course and module are designed for asynchronous independent or group learning experiences. Instructors and students are encouraged to use the module as a whole or incorporate individual videos, discussion, writing and/or reading assignments into their course of study as desired.
