Survey of American Literature: Eng 253

This unit introduces students to the philosophical and literary American revolution of transcendentalism.  This unit involves a lot of reading and writing about abstract ideas, which can be challenging.  A short, humorous play is provided, and a concrete writing assignment is designed to bring students back to earth.
