The whiteboard assessment is fun for the students, and can be expanded on to include more household vocabulary.

Quality of Instructional and Practice Exercises: Superior (3)

The cooperative learning and the interviewing activities promote the instructional outcomes of this lesson, while helping to build a sense of class solidarity. For students who had missed some parts of the lesson, the group work facilitated peer teaching, allowing the more advanced students to help the other students catch up. In addition, the activities incorporate student movement around the classroom. As students interact with each other, they also get to know one another better. For evening classes, movement and interaction help to counteract the fatigue students might feel after a long day of work.
