Digital Age Skill: Element Research

Digital Age Skill: Element Research

Description of the Lesson

Overview

This lesson was created by Stephanie Coudeyras as part of the Nebraska ESUCC Special Project Digital Age Skills.

Students will be able to show their research of a specific element.  Students are unsure exactly what the elements are so this introduces them up close and personal to a specific element, its characteristics and its usefulness.  They can’t become an expert on all elements, but they can become an expert on one element.

Personal Reflection

This was a summative project for the students after our Evolution/Natural Selection unit.  The students demonstrated their knowledge of evolution and natural selection by listing coming up with their Top 6 Takeaways from the Unit.  In class we discussed what evolution was and the history of it, but the students had to increase their understanding and knowledge of it by researching and finding evolution in action today.
