This is a short video clip of work in a brick factory in Asia. You can use the clip for educational purposes teaching occupational Health; and focus upon a discussion of different work factors causing a risk for health.
Natural clay minerals make up the main body of brick. After the bricks have been formed, they are dried to remove excess moisture. Next, bricks are manually loaded onto the conveyor belt and transported into the kiln where they are burnt at very high temperatures to give them their final hardness and appearance.
For discussion you can ask the students the following question;
Which work-related conditions would you expect?
You may also say to your students: Discuss and suggest preventive measures.
