Found this resource to be useful for a straight forward way of teaching geometric two dimensional shape. It provides instruction, student practice and applications for how to use this information in everyday scenarios. Very helpful!!

Quality of Assessments: Limited (1)

There are several links that include opportunities for students to practice and assess with perimeter, area, volume, etc. One limitation with these is that they focus mostly on memorization and practicing similar-looking problems. It could be helpful to supplement those with opportunities for students to practice longer, more open-ended puzzles that can challenge us to think critically and creatively with math ideas.

Utility of Materials Designed to Support Teaching: Limited (1)

This is more of a teacher facing outline for what to cover in a GED Geometry unit. There are links to resources and materials for some of the sections but not all, so this is probably most useful as a tool for planning a course of study and then supplementing it with resources organized for each topic.

Quality of Technological Interactivity: Limited (1)

The supporting PowerPoints could be used/adapted into your classroom.

Opportunities for Deeper Learning: Strong (2)

Many of the links lead to real-world applications. This is great, since good applications can be difficult to find.

Quality of Assessments: Limited (1)

Not much of the material included is meant as assessment, but it could be used for assessment.

Quality of Explanation of the Subject Matter: Strong (2)

This guide has a thorough outline of GED(R) geometry topics with many helpful links to teaching and practice aids. Not all subjects have links, so this is more for a teacher than a student. Also, be aware that some of the material in the links has content not needed for the GED.
