Objective: Students will assess various pieces of WWI propaganda and determine which is most effective and which is least effective.
Procedure:
- Explain what propaganda is and what it’s goal are
- Go through these pieces of WWI propaganda with your students, asking students what sticks out to them and what they believe the point of each cartoon is
- Ask students to then compose an essay explaining which piece of propaganda they feel is most effective and which they feel is least effective
- Finally, ask students to find their own piece of modern propaganda they feel is very effective and why
