1970s Fact Check

Grade Level: 11th

Subject: US History

Duration: 1 class period and an E-Learning day class period

DOK Level: 3

Indiana Standard: USH 6.1, 7.5, 7.6, 7.7, 7.8, 8.2, 8.5, 9.4

Objective: Students will research and develop 3 questions over the the 1970s which can be answered by the citation of at least 3 pieces of evidence.  

Procedure:

  • Students will develop 3 questions over the 1970s
  • They will then need to answer their own questions by finding 3 credible sources
  • Students will send a copy of their own complete worksheet to the instructor
  • Students will then create a blank copy of their sheet
  • They will then send a link for their worksheet to a partner for their completion
  • They will need a basic understanding of how to properly conduct research and determine the validity of sources
  • The worksheet will need to be completed, with the proper hyperlinks, and turned in to the creating student and the instructor within a class period

Product or Assessment: 2 completed worksheets

Accommodations:

  • Could also be done in small groups
