Greatest Common Factor

Indiana Standard: 6.NS.7: Find the greatest common factor of two whole numbers less than or equal to 100 and the least common multiple of two whole numbers less than or equal to 12.

Objective: Learn and practice the concepts of greatest common factor

Procedure:

1. Label your spiral notebook page “Greatest Common Factor”.

2. Copy the two definitions below.

Greatest Common Factor (GCF)- the largest factor that is shared by two or more numbers

Factor- numbers we can multiply together to get another number.

             Example: 2 and 3 are factors  of 6, because 2 × 3 = 6. A number can have MANY    

             factors !

3. Watch the two teaching videos below. You do not need to take notes, but you if you would like to, you may. Label the section in your notes as “Video Notes”.

Complete at least 5 of these questions in your spiral notebook showing your work. Check your work online and show your checking in your spiral notebook. If you miss a problem, look at their work and make your corrections.

Once your quiz is scored, make sure you look over the questions you missed and their correct answers. (You do not need to write anything in your notebook except your final score!)

5. You may spend a total of 15 minutes on the two online games below.
