Quality of Explanation of the Subject Matter: Superior (3)
Strong resources and content explain the subject matter very well.
Perhaps the level of language used in the subject matter and resources might be a bit too advanced for earlier grades

Utility of Materials Designed to Support Teaching: Strong (2)
Overall the materials are useful and the way in which teachers should use them is outlined well.
What could be improved is outlining how these materials can be used for different learners (ie English Language Learners, Special Needs learners, etc.)

Quality of Assessments: Strong (2)
Assessments are strong, though a rubric for evaluation regarding the writing portion should be included for the benefit of the teacher and student.

Quality of Technological Interactivity: Not Applicable (N/A)
I didn't feel this was applicable

Quality of Instructional and Practice Exercises: Superior (3)
For a 30-45 minute lesson I believe the exercises are strong and succinct.
Perhaps more development could go into the 'Application' phase as merely asking students 'how does this apply to your lives?' is a bit of a surface-level exploration of what they learned.

Opportunities for Deeper Learning: Limited (1)
Though I realize this lesson is for early ages, I believe the activities and assessments could encourage deeper learning or engagement with Jazz. The creative writing piece taps into this. The word bank as an activity is good for memorization of facts but does not develop deeper understandings of Jazz.

Utility of Materials Designed to Support Teaching: Superior (3)
Some of the material is at a more advanced level. Also, there is a lot of material for one lesson!
