We know that kids need to learn how to do a lot of stuff, and learn complicated things like feelings, manners, and abstract concepts. Often, we turn to books to help us explain and introduce these kinds of things to kids. But in between the "lessons," make sure to make time for books that your kid just enjoys-- or books that are new to your family, well written, have interesting illustrations, or just "jumped out" at you on the shelf. Motivation plays a large part in a lifelong enjoyment of reading!
