This module demonstrates how to solve linear inequalities in one variable by comparing the process to solving linear equations. Solving inequalities in one variable can help you solve problems. One example includes making decisions about how much of a certain item you can afford, given a fixed amount of money. Solving and graphing inequalities in one variable is an important skill that prepares you for solving inequalities in two variables. Two-variable inequalities are also applicable in many real-world situations. Inequalities are used to solve problems in many fields—Business, Finance, and Science, to name a few.
