- Abstract:
The Clarkson University School of Business has a goal of providing its students with competencies in organizational leadership, teamwork, communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills, interpersonal skills and an awareness of ethical issues. This course offers students a chance to explore and apply those competencies by providing a real life, multi-disciplinary, team-based consulting experience. Each semester several consulting projects are presented to the students by outside organizations facing challenges. These challenges may be domestic or international, and may include study of new market opportunities, organizational development, or other business problems presented by the client. Class time will be spent exploring the particular consulting issue presented, but the focus of the course will be on team-based problem solving. The projects will require critical thinking skills to solve unstructured novel problems, and strategic planning concepts to resolve client issues.
