Abstract:

Rabbits were introduced in Australia as a game animal for people to hunt for recreation. Rabbits reproduce very quickly. There were no natural predators of rabbits native to Australia, and the hunters didn't end up killing all of them. The rabbits became a pest problem and a virus was introduced to the rabbit population as a biological control measure.
