This lesson outlines an activity that can be done to collect decimal data from students. The teacher would need to determine appropriate Olympics tasks for his/her students, and would need to think about how to help students actually compare decimals. Other additions would need to be made to the lesson to meet the standards connected to the task, such as asking students to explain how they know how decimals compare and how to write that down using mathematical notation.
