Abstract: This scientific paper provides a brief introduction into the use and development of industrial mineral-processing bioreactors and reviews the variety of microfloral species used in bioreactors. Additionally, the authors discuss recent microbiological and process developments with thermoacidophiles that could expand the range of mineral sulfides processed commercially using microorganisms.
