Abstract: This USGS Open File Report focuses on a basin-wide assessment of coalbed methane resources in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. The report includes a thorough geological study with relevant maps, stratigraphic columns, and cross-sections, along with water and soil analysis and field trip road logs. A historical background of mining in the Powder River Basin adds perspective to today's activities.
