Abstract:

In 2003, Community Development and Networking for Capacity Building appeared as the first steps for the development and promulgation of Computer-Mediated Communication, Pedagogies and Technology-Enhanced Learning in the Indian Ocean Region.

The 2005 edition of ICOOL capitalised on the objectives set in 2003, investigating in, and promoting the effective use of, clustering and interoperability of open educational resources (OER), and innovative approaches of team/community building, which link learning, knowledge and innovation and precise methodologies to perpetuate and scale up the results of these efforts.

To bring about a shift in current mindsets, to transform learners from simple interactive customers into reflexive and creative practitioners scripting which will be the main focus of ICOOL 2007.
