Abstract:: Caroline Hunter comments on the struggle for African liberation. Guests Caroline Hunter, Dinizulu Ceitou (both of Boston's African Liberation Day Committee), and Christopher Nteta (of the Pan African Liberation Committee) discuss the liberation struggle in Mozambique with host Topper Carew. Topics include Frelimo (the African freedom fighters in Mozambique), the influence of African American support on the cause, the relationship between corporations and the seizure of African land, the need for violence to achieve liberation, the relationship between racism and colonization, and the need for African Americans to recognize that the African struggle is their own. Abstract:: A Say Brother Special Film Presentation, program 312 is a public television airing of Ely Landau's 1970 documentary film 'Montgomery to Memphis.' The film, which is about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights movement, was originally issued by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation and produced by Ely Landau with Richard Kaplan. It consists of archival newsreel and television footage assembled in chronological order. The film was nominated for an Oscar in 1970 for Best Documentary Film. In black and white. Abstract:: Excerpt from the film Sanola, a black and white documentary film produced by Ed Pincus and Donald Neuman, and distributed by Cambridgeport Film Corporation. Living in poverty, Sanola (jokingly called 'X Jr.' by friends) talks about the various jobs he has held over the years including a tree surgeon, sawmill hand, and a soft shoe dancer.
