This is the final installment of my three part tutorial on the CNXML language. It is currently valid for the most recent release of the 0.3 language. The keywords contain a list of the tags described in this tutorial. Along with the example code in this module there is also an example module that has been growing throughout the tutorial.

This document explains and elaborates on CNXML tags that you can insert into a Connexions document using Edit-in-Place.

In this lesson, students work in groups and individually to understand how the Constitution/Bill of Rights is a living document and how Supreme Court decisions protect the rights of all Americans.

The students will learn about feelings and how to get along with others in group situations. Children will discuss what makes a friend, how friends make each other feel, what friends do together and how to resolve differences between friends.

Students, working in groups, use various resources to answer prepared questions about the candidates. Students will enter their data into a prepared database. With teacher guidance, students will learn to use the database to find information.

This course will begin with an introduction that will help further the distinction between leadership and management, followed by an introduction to major theories and models of leadership. Next, the student will be introduced to the process of decision-making, followed by the processes of leading independently. The final unit will focus on managing groups and teams. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: distinguish the concept of leadership from the concept of management; compare and contrast the major theories of leadership; analyze the decision-making process and change management; assess the skills necessary to exert power and influence in a non-authoritative leadership role; evaluate the qualities necessary to effectively manage or lead in a team/group environment. Students will work in groups to evaluate the personality of various characters from "Oedipus the King". Each student will write two personal letters in the role of one character from the play responding to the events of the play and the various relationships within it.

While developing effective teamwork and collaboration skills are considered important to the learning process, many students find group work challenging and difficult. In this episode we explore how Internet technologies can improve the collaborative process within online teamwork, and offer some useful strategies for facilitation and assessment.

Students will work in groups to organize a political campaign that they present in class. This is the third in a series of three lessons. Beginning with an introduction to political ideology, the modules proceed to a study of the American political process and elections.

This lesson will stress to the students the importance of working together to solve a problem.

Along our path collaboration is essential. However as an artist we don't want to get lost within collaboration where our original goals are sacrificed. Yet sometimes we must sacrifice, compromise, for a short time to get to our desired end. This module helps us fully examine this part of the creative process.

Children will work in groups using spinners with 4 colors to make predictions about probability, gather and record data, and make conclusions about outcome.

When teaching larger classes, an online environment can provide many opportunities for increased student engagement, group work and self testing. In this case study Professor Alan Crosky, from the University of New South Wales, explains how he uses a blended learning approach in his Engineering Materials and Chemistry course with 700 first year students. He highlights the importance of providing student orientation and support when first introducing an online component, and discusses the benefits of integrating online tutorials and resources, group work, peer assessment and self-testing into the course.

This case study examines how the use of a wiki can help a teacher effectively facilitate student collaboration with on-campus or distance students. It discusses the importance of providing technical support for both staff and students, planning clearly defined collaborative learning activities, and designing relevant assessment strategies to help support students develop effective teamwork skills.
