This fun Web site is part of OLogy, where kids can collect virtual trading cards and create projects with them. Here, they take travel along with museum scientists to investigate biodiversity in Australia, Madagascar, and the Bahamas.
NASAs TRMM spacecraft is used by meteorologists to understand Hurricane Jeanne. TRMM recorded this view of Hurricane Jeanne on September 23, 2004. The cloud cover is taken by TRMMs Visible and Infrared Scanner(VIRS) and the rain structure is seen by TRMMs Precipitation Radar (PR). It looks underneath of the storms clouds to reveal the underlying rain structure. Blue represents areas with at least 0.25 inches of rain per hour. Green shows at least 0.5 inches of rain per hour. Yellow is at least 1.0 inches of rain and Red is at least 2.0 inches of rain per hour.
