Have you ever wondered if people are *really* rational? For the last hundred years economic theory has been built on the underlying assumption that people are rational. The field of behavioral economics and decision making both challenge this fundamental assumption by showing in a variety context, people's judgments are not rational. In this brief six week course, we will go through an overview of some of the main points in the field exploring things like prospect theory, the endowment effect, hyperbolic discounting, priming, moral decision making, nonconscious priming, among a variety of other topics.

The course is taught around practical case studies faced by teachers when using copyright material in their day to day teaching and educational instruction.

This course covers the works of the four major writers of cyberpunk: William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, Neal Stephenson, and Pat Cadigan. Other theoretical and scholarly texts that articulate cyberpunk as a site of intellectual and literary investigation will be read and will inform discussions . Popular films (Blade Runner and The Matrix) which are good examples of cyberpunk films are will also be referred to. The thematic concerns of cyberpunk, that speak directly to contemporary issues like globalisation, corporate ethics, postmodern politics and terrorism will also be discussed.

This course in Land Restoration and Afforestation provides an introduction and overview of the scientific concepts underlying deforested lands and their renewal. 3.To help you understand how neuroethical issues are related to human rights and their protection.

This course concerns the writing of creative nonfiction, which involves the writing of true life events in creative form. Creativity comes into play with the style or manner in which the writer relates her story to the reader. Facts are raw, but also contextual. In creative nonfiction, context is perspective; and perspective is what makes a story interesting. Essentially, creative nonfiction is very similar (and some might even say nearly the same) to fiction; the main difference is whether the facts in the story concur with the facts in real life. In this course, we will explore the distance, or proximity, between fiction and nonfiction.

The Peer 2 Peer University (P2PU) is an online community of open study groups for short university-level courses. Think of it as online book clubs for open educational resources. The P2PU helps you navigate the wealth of open education materials that are out there, creates small groups of motivated learners, and supports the design and facilitation of courses. Students and tutors get recognition for their work, and we are building pathways to formal credit as well.

Currently P2PU is in a pilot phase. To begin P2PU will offer scheduled "courses" that run for 6 weeks and cover university-level topics. Each course package, organized by a course volunteer, contains the syllabus, study materials, and a schedule. Learning will take place in small groups of 8-14 students. P2PU blurs the boundaries between students and teachers. Volunteers step forward to create course outlines and facilitate the course work. In some cases they may be experts in the field, and in others, they may rely on input and advice from others who have expert knowledge. During the phase the project aims to test different styles of course structure, communication, and organization. As the project grows the goal is to become more of a platform so anyone can use P2PU to organize, design, and offer courses.
